Before founding J&F, Jennifer and Franklin built their careers across higher education, educational innovation, learning design, research, faculty development, and organizational leadership.
Together, they bring decades of experience helping educators and organizations navigate complex challenges, strengthen learning, and turn ambitious ideas into practical solutions.
J&F brings that experience into a collaborative consulting practice grounded in evidence, curiosity, inclusion, and the belief that the best solutions are built with people, not simply delivered to them.
Jennifer is an educational strategist and technology optimist who helps organizations build learning experiences that are rigorous, equitable, accessible, and future-ready. With more than a decade of experience across higher education and innovation, her work brings together learning science, instructional design, faculty development, curriculum strategy, accessibility, and responsible AI adoption.
In her recent roles, she has helped scale AI-assisted curriculum systems, led large-scale digital learning initiatives, supported faculty through complex institutional change, and helped teams translate emerging technology into practical, human-centered solutions. Jennifer is especially interested in how generative AI can strengthen learning, writing, feedback, and educational access when it is implemented with care, evidence, and respect for the people doing the work.
Her approach to inclusive design extends beyond access to technology. She supports organizations in designing for neurodiversity, applying WCAG accessibility standards, and developing inclusive language guides that help teams communicate thoughtfully across diverse identities, experiences, and communities.
At J&F, Jennifer partners with educators and organizations to design thoughtful learning systems, build institutional capacity, and move ambitious ideas into practice.

Franklin is a curriculum strategist, teacher educator, and learning designer with 25 years of experience across elementary, secondary, and university. His work sits at the intersection of instructional design, science education, and the responsible integration of AI in professional learning environments. He has prepared hundreds of teachers for urban and culturally diverse classrooms, developed competency-based curriculum across multiple professional fields, and conducted research on innovative technologies and pedagogies as well as science learning with historically marginalized communities.
In recent years, Franklin has focused on how AI can be integrated thoughtfully into teacher preparation and professional development as a tool that extends human expertise rather than a replacement. This interest prompted him to enroll in and complete ISTE's Artificial Intelligence Explorations for Educators. He brings to that work a deep commitment to standards alignment, evidence-based design, and the conviction that rigorous professional learning should be accessible to everyone who needs it, not just the organizations with the largest budgets.
At J&F, Franklin leads curriculum architecture and instructional strategy, ensuring that every project the firm takes on is grounded in learning science, mapped to professional standards, and designed with the people it serves at the center.
Franklin is based in Houston, a city whose diversity and educational complexity have shaped his thinking about what it means to design learning that works for everyone. Outside of J&F, he serves as a den leader for a local Cub Scout pack and is an active member of his neighborhood swim team because it turns out that teaching ten-year-olds to tie knots and swimming laps before sunrise are both excellent preparation for the work of building something new.

Great work rarely happens in isolation. J&F works with a growing network of subject matter experts, researchers, educators, designers, and specialized consultants whose expertise can be brought into projects when it adds value. This flexible model allows us to build the right team around each client and each challenge, drawing on specialized knowledge without taking a one-size-fits-all approach. As J&F grows, so does our community of collaborators, expanding the perspectives, disciplines, and expertise we can bring to our work.
Have a challenge, an idea, or a project you would like to explore? We would love to hear about it. Tell us a little about what you are working on and where you could use support. Whether you already know exactly what you need or are still figuring out the right next step, we can start with a conversation.
